Placements24 is seeking a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to join a fully remote team based in Pietermaritzburg. You will build and refine complex financial models for solar projects, analyze market trends, and assess policy impacts to guide strategic investments.

The role requires a minimum of five years in energy analysis and strong expertise in finance and economics. You will collaborate with global teams, drive project viability studies, and help shape renewable energy growth from your home

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy analysis, financial modeling, or investment banking, with a renewable energy focus.
• Proficiency in financial modeling software and advanced Excel; experience with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
• Strong understanding of solar energy technologies, market dynamics, and project finance structures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work independently on multiple remote projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for solar energy projects, including PPA analysis, ROI calculations, and sensitivity analyses.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in solar energy.
• Evaluate technical and economic feasibility of potential solar installations and portfolio acquisitions.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
