Job summary

Ozow, a leading fintech company in South Africa, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a hands-on, collaborative team. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable web applications using .NET 8, C#, JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML and CSS.

Expect code reviews, architecture standardisation, and close collaboration with agile teams to deliver robust solutions. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software engineering, strong DB skills (PostgreSQL/MSSQL), experience with NoSQL, containers, cloud

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of work-related experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
• Ideally have an IT Diploma or Degree
• Ability to develop software in .Net 8 C#, Javascript, ReactJs, HTML, CSS and other programming languages (polyglots preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of Postgres, Mssql technologies (EF, NHibernate)
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Redis, Riak, MongoDB, and others.
• Experience developing web applications, with a good understanding of how the web works
• Proven experience in high-scale applications and an understanding of scaling practices beneficial
• Experience with unit testing and/or test-driven development
• Understanding DevOps principles; cloud services (AWS/Azure) preferred
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) highly beneficial

Responsibilities

• Participating in regular code reviews
• Standardisation of technologies, approaches, and architectures across teams
• Active engagement with the development teams on all areas of software development
• Liaise with agile coaches and product owners to resolve team impediments
• Drive architectural changes and align with executives on initiatives
• Understand interdependencies of work items and teams
• Monitor the software development process and drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with support teams to resolve production issues quickly
