About the role

We are seeking a highly talented and results-driven Senior SDET to join our dynamic team in South Africa. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation testing frameworks that ensure the quality, resilience, and performance of our cutting-edge data platform. • Proven experience in automated testing, including designing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language such as JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation tools and frameworks like Cypress.io, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Expertise in testing RESTful APIs and understanding of API automation best practices.
• Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, testing strategies, and quality best practices.
• Ability to create and manipulate test environments and generate relevant test data.
• Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and experience working within cross‑functional teams.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving mindset, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continually improve the product tests
• Design, refine, and enhance automation frameworks, tools, and test scenarios to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate closely with development and product teams to understand new features and technical debt, contributing to quality assurance from inception through deployment.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and deliver insightful reports to stakeholders.
• Participate actively throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring quality is integrated at every stage.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports.
• Develop test environments and generate relevant test data to simulate production conditions.
• Promote best practices for automation, testing, and code quality within the team.
• Support continuous integration efforts by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Review developer deliverables from a product and quality perspective, providing constructive feedback.
