Job summary

Smart4 Energy in Cape Town seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a hybrid development team. The role is hands-on, focusing on solving complex technical problems, creating new software products and enhancing existing solutions within a collaborative engineering environment.

You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, provide technical guidance and mentorship, review code, and help maintain high engineering standards while delivering in Agile/Scrum environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience, senior/lead level preferred.
• Strong expertise in C#/.NET, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with APIs, services and database integration.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into software solutions.
