Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Randburg, Gauteng team to design, optimize, and deploy high-performance scientific software for large-scale HPC clusters. You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to deliver robust computational tools across multi-core CPUs and GPUs.

You will implement MPI/OpenMP/CUDA parallelism, work with scientific libraries, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping best practices in a cutting-edge HPC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering or related quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with a focus on scientific computing or HPC.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Fortran.
• Experience with parallel programming paradigms (MPI, OpenMP, CUDA).
• Familiarity with scientific libraries and numerical methods.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Understanding of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for Randburg facility.
