Job summary

Smart4 Energy in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable software in a hands-on role. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, provide technical guidance and help set engineering standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong skills in C#/.NET, Python or TypeScript, and a solid background in APIs, databases and Agile practices. You will mentor peers and drive quality in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, software engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant commercial software development experience, at Senior/Lead level.
• Experience with APIs, services and SQL databases.
• Strong OO design knowledge and modern architecture understanding.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions across the full SDLC.
• Lead and mentor engineers; contribute to architecture and technical direction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; participate in planning and delivery.
