Placements24 is seeking an experienced Site Foreman to oversee daily operations on construction sites around Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role requires guiding a crew, coordinating trades, and ensuring work aligns with plans and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of supervisory experience, a solid understanding of construction methods, and the ability to read blueprints. A valid driver’s license is required with some sites offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a construction crew.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and codes relevant to Vereeniging.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Trade qualification or relevant certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the construction crew, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications, and guide the crew in their execution.
• Coordinate with the site manager or project manager regarding work progress, material needs, and potential issues.
• Manage on-site materials and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Conduct daily safety briefings (toolbox talks) and enforce safety protocols at all times.
• Perform quality checks on workmanship and ensure adherence to project standards.
• Maintain daily site logs, documenting work performed, manpower, and any incidents.
• Assist in problem-solving on site and finding practical solutions to construction challenges.
• Operate various construction tools and equipment as needed.
