Role: Senior SEO Technician
Salary: up to 200k ZAR PER ANNUM
Location: Remote (South Africa)

Job Summary
  • Execute search engine optimization for new and existing clients and maximize their ROI
  • This will see you working with our clients to gain deeper understand their needs, then optimise their websites for search and AI, track results and discuss strategy with clients. Our typical clients are small and medium sized businesses across a wide range of sectors.
  • Work as part of our friendly, growing team on a fully remote basis.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in technical SEO, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits to identify issues impacting site performance, crawlability, and indexing.
  • Optimize website architecture, including URL structure, internal linking, and sitemaps, to enhance user experience and search engine accessibility.
  • Analyze site speed, mobile usability, and Core Web Vitals to meet Google’s ranking criteria.
  • Implement and monitor structured data (schema markup) to enhance search visibility and rich snippet opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve crawl errors, broken links, duplicate content, and other technical issues using tools like Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement server‑side fixes, such as .htaccess configurations, canonical tags, and redirects (301/302).
  • Monitor and report on SEO performance metrics using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other analytics platforms.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with search engine algorithm updates and industry trends to ensure strategies remain cutting‑edge.
  • Support the development of SEO strategies by providing technical insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to inform technical and on‑page SEO strategies.
  • Ensure websites comply with SEO best practices.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms, especially WordPress & Shopify.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Tag Manager.
  • Knowledge of server‑side configurations, including robots.txt, .htaccess, and HTTP status codes.
  • Familiarity with web development frameworks and their impact on SEO performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience interpreting data to drive actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced agency environment.
