About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer specializing in simulation to join their team in Polokwane . This critical role focuses on developing, calibrating, and utilizing advanced reservoir simulation models to predict future reservoir performance and evaluate development strategies for oil and gas assets. You will play a key part in maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and ensuring the economic viability of projects within the Oil & Gas industry . Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update dynamic reservoir simulation models for various field development scenarios.
• Calibrate simulation models using historical production data, well logs, and core data.
• Conduct simulation studies to forecast production, assess recovery factors, and evaluate the impact of different operational strategies.
• Perform sensitivity analyses and uncertainty assessments to quantify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with geoscientists and production engineers to integrate geological models and production data into simulations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present simulation results and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in reservoir engineering , with a strong emphasis on reservoir simulation .
• Expert proficiency with leading reservoir simulation software packages (e.g., ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow in porous media, and numerical methods.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex simulation outputs.
• Proven experience in a field-based Oil & Gas environment, supporting operations in Polokwane .
