Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Research Chemist to join the Materials Science division in Klerksdorp. You will lead synthesis, characterization, and application of novel materials for energy, electronics, and manufacturing, working at the forefront of chemical process development in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate discoveries into practical products, maintain meticulous notebooks, publish results, and contribute to patent

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant research in materials synthesis/characterization.
• Expert in inorganic/organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, or solid-state chemistry.
• Hands-on experience with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques for material characterization.
• Ability to design and execute complex experiments independently.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and characterize novel materials using advanced techniques.
• Use spectroscopy, microscopy, and X-ray diffraction for material analysis.
• Design experiments to evaluate material performance under varied conditions.
