A prominent energy regulatory firm in Pretoria seeks an expert to provide technical and strategic support in regulatory practices. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Economics and at least eight years of experience in electricity regulation or utility management. Responsibilities include developing regulatory frameworks and enhancing credibility in energy practices. This is a three-year fixed term contract position.

The incumbent will further be required to contribute to enhancing the credibility, effectiveness, and global competitiveness of SA's electricity regulatory practices by applying world‑class methodologies in licensing, tariff setting, market regulation and compliance monitoring. This is a 3 year fixed term contract position.
Bachelor's Degree (NQF 7) in Engineering, Economics or Energy Studies as recognized by SAQA. Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Economics or Energy Studies will be an advantage. A qualification in Regulatory or Energy Economics, Market Regulation, or Project Management will be an added advantage. Minimum of eight years' experience in electricity regulation, energy sector planning, or utility management. Proven experience in developing and implementing regulatory frameworks, tariff methodologies, or market rules. Experience working in or with a regulatory authority, government department, or energy utility. Demonstrated understanding of market liberalisation, competition regulation, and energy transition policies. Track record of engagement with international regulatory bodies or participation in global energy regulatory initiatives is desirable. Deep knowledge of the Electricity Regulation Act and energy policy frameworks.
