Job summary

Salix Recruitment seeks a Senior Software Developer specializing in signal processing to join a pioneering engineering team in Stellenbosch. You will craft high-performance algorithms for radar and sensing solutions, bridging mathematics and software with hardware integration.

The role focuses on designing, implementing and optimising complex DSP software, while collaborating across hardware, firmware and software domains to deliver low-latency, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering and/or signal processing.
• Advanced proficiency in C and strong programming/simulation capabilities in Python and MATLAB.
• Strong memory management and system-level optimisation knowledge; TCP/UDP/network programming.
• Experience with modern source control systems (e.g., Git).
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise high-performance signal processing software.
• Develop complex algorithms and translate advanced mathematical models into production-ready software.
• Build and optimise low-latency TCP/UDP communication and network protocols.
• Integrate software across hardware, firmware and software systems.
• Optimise memory management and system-level performance for high-throughput applications.
• Develop and maintain clean, scalable, collaborative code using modern version control.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through to successful implementation.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve challenging technical problems.
