Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the QS and procurement teams in South Africa. You will manage estimating, tendering, and cost planning while monitoring budgets and cash flow to protect project profitability.

With 8+ years in QS within construction and strong leadership, you will review valuations, payment certificates, and variation claims, oversee procurement, and administer JBCC contracts. Knowledge of Xero/ApprovalMax is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Experience leading commercial/QS teams.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, cost control, procurement and contract administration.
• Advanced Candy (CCS) experience.
• Knowledge of JBCC contracts and procurement systems is advantageous.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years' Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry


• Previous experience managing or leading commercial/QS teams


• Strong knowledge of estimating, cost control, procurement and contract administration


• Advanced experience using Candy (CCS)


• Experience working with JBCC contracts


• Knowledge of Xero, ApprovalMax or similar financial systems is advantageous


• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills

Qualification:

• BSc, BTech or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management


• Professional registration with SACQSP is advantageous
