Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and contracts. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and at least 5 years of experience, alongside knowledge of JBCC Contracts and CCS/Candy software. You will be responsible for preparing cost analyses, managing budgets, and working closely with project teams. This role is essential for ensuring commercial controls are effective and client requirements are delivered on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with JBCC Contracts is advantageous.
• Proficiency in CCS/Candy is beneficial.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Update feasibility monthly by bringing in monthly costs.
• Prepare cost analysis based on architectural drawings.
• Prepare cost plans for practical designs for construction projects.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Control all stages of projects within budget and expenditure.
• Monitor project progress and value variations during contracts.
• Conduct monthly valuations of work in progress.
• Regularly communicate with project staff and subcontractors.
• Monitor commercial information related to project costs.
• Vet sub-contractor tenders and contracts.
• Collaborate with a team to meet client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Update feasibility monthly by bringing in monthly costs.
• Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required and labour involved.
• Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involve liaising with architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.
• Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
• Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
• Communicate regularly with project staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place, understood and followed at all times.
• Monitor all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material and Sub-contractor cost forecasting thus ensuring budgets adhered to.
• Commercial vetting of sub-contractor tenders and contracts
• Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered
