Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a role in Tembisa, Gauteng. The successful candidate will oversee all cost aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates to final figures, and ensure projects stay within budget.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the SA construction sector, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and a professional qualification (RICS accredited degree preferred).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in SA construction.
• In-depth understanding of construction methods, contracts and financial management.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Relevant professional qualification such as a RICS accredited degree is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver bills of quantities, specs, and contract documents for projects in Tembisa.
• Conduct cost analyses for tenders ensuring profitability and value for money.
• Assist in defining client requirements and manage tendering and contractor selection.
• Analyze outcomes and produce progress reports with accurate financial records.
• Advise on cost control and foster good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Resolve contractual and commercial issues during construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, tender, and deliver bills of quantities, specifications, and contract documents for construction projects in Tembisa .

• Assist in establishing client requirements and manage the tendering and contractor selection process.
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports, ensuring all financial information is accurately recorded and updated.
• Manage and reduce construction costs by giving advice and encouraging beneficial relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Resolve any contractual and commercial issues that arise during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor , preferably with significant experience in the South African construction sector.
