Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to design and implement advanced quantitative models for pricing, risk management, and algorithmic trading. The role is fully remote within South Africa, offering a tech stipend and strong research opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or Master’s in a quantitative field with at least 6 years of experience in finance, and is proficient in Python, R, and/or C++.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science or financial engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Quantitative Analyst in finance with modeling/algorithm development.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, time series, machine learning, and stochastic calculus.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or R.
• Experience with large datasets and high-performance computing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement quantitative models for pricing derivatives, risk management, and algorithmic trading.
• Perform statistical analysis and back-testing of trading algorithms and investment strategies.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to translate ideas into quantitative frameworks.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, R, or C++.
• Contribute to research and development and stay at the forefront of quant finance.
