About the Role

Our client, a reputable aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organization in Bloemfontein , is seeking a highly diligent and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Inspector. This role is paramount in ensuring that all maintenance activities performed on aircraft and aircraft components meet the stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements set forth by aviation authorities. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, audits, and reviews of maintenance processes, documentation, and completed work to uphold the highest levels of safety and airworthiness. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of aviation quality systems within the Free State region.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive inspections of aircraft, components, and maintenance processes to verify compliance with approved technical data, regulations, and company procedures. Review maintenance records, work orders, and certification documentation for accuracy and completeness. Perform audits of workshops, hangars, and tooling to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. Identify non-conformities, discrepancies, and potential quality issues, documenting them accurately and initiating corrective action procedures. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive measures implemented by maintenance teams. Participate in internal and external audits conducted by regulatory bodies or customers. Provide guidance and training to junior inspectors and maintenance personnel on quality standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain all quality assurance records and documentation in an organized and accessible manner.

Requirements

A recognized qualification in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation quality assurance or a similar role within an MRO or airline environment. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, including those from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and relevant international bodies. Proven experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and auditing techniques. Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders. Must be able to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
