Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer in the Private Banking program. The person will take responsibility for designing, developing, and executing quality assurance for multiple applications across their platform. Testing will be both manual and automated & could be on projects or BAU's. Automation knowledge and experience is key. The automation engineer will work closely with the development team to ensure high-quality software delivery and will be responsible for testing and documenting the test process for their software at all levels of their development process.
Responsibilities
- Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
- Build automated tests across the stack where applicable.
- Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system.
- Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
- Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases; build and maintain test automation frameworks; log and document bugs in the tracking system; set up continuous integration.
- Solid experience in establishing and maintaining controls for risk and quality: defect tracking and reporting tools, risk analysis and static techniques, test design techniques; knowledge of DevOps principles will be needed to test support/maintenance implementations.
- Accountable for the effective creation, measurement and control of the test strategy within the ASP Team.
- Review business requirements, create and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, UAT and automation (API) test scenarios and own testing tasks from start to finish.
- Coordinate and support UAT with business users.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using xUnit, Nunit, RestSharp for backend and MS Playwright with C# or Typescript for frontend; create and execute test plans and test cases for software applications.
- Collaborate with the development team to identify test scenarios and ensure that all critical business requirements are covered in the test plan.
- Analyze test results and debug errors.
- Report and track defects and work with the development team to resolve them; required to own the defect until it has been resolved.
- Work with the QA team to continuously improve the automation framework and testing process.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
- Continuously learn new testing technologies and tools and share with the broader team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in automation testing (xUnit, NUnit, Ms Playwright, RestSharp).
- Experience in programming languages such as C# in .NET; strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the testing competency: ISEB / ISTQB qualification.
- Solid experience in the implementation of the STLC (Test Planning, Monitoring and Control - including reporting, Test Analysis and design, Test Execution, Test Closure throughout the project lifecycle).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines and Octopus.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.
- Extensive experience of API testing, REST & SOAP.
- Mobile testing experience would be an additional benefit.
- Senior level: Mid-Senior level.
