Job summary

JobCubby is seeking a Middle to Senior Python Developer based in South Africa to build and evolve high-performance backend systems within an iGaming technology environment.

You will work across a modern Python stack, contribute to integrations with payment providers and data sources, and own production reliability and system improvements in a fast-paced team. Excellent collaboration and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong professional knowledge of Python 3.x and Django.
• Experience designing and developing complex, highly loaded, and scalable systems.
• Understanding of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Intermediate English proficiency or higher for collaboration in an international environment.
• Experience in the iGaming or sports betting industry.

Responsibilities

• Make architectural and technical decisions for backend products and services.
• Design, develop, implement, and test reliable backend solutions using Python and Django.
• Build new product features and contribute to integrations with payment methods and external data providers.
• Develop automated communication systems, risk management capabilities, and other backend solutions.
• Monitor production systems to ensure stable, reliable operation.
• Monitor system performance and optimize bottlenecks.
• Take ownership from development through delivery.
• Decompose complex requirements into actionable tasks and deliver solutions efficiently.
• Apply flexible, systematic approaches to challenging engineering problems.
