Placements24 seeks a specialized Legal Counsel in Pretoria with a strong focus on Property Law to manage the firm's real estate portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and development projects.

The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with South African property legislation, contributing to high-value deals and the firm’s growth in Gauteng.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience specializing in Property Law.
Specialization in commercial property transactions, conveyancing, and leasing.
Thorough understanding of South African property law and related legislation.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex property transactions simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate property sale agreements, lease agreements, and development contracts.
Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence for property acquisitions and disposals.
Advise on zoning, land use regulations, and environmental law aspects related to property development.
Manage property-related disputes and litigation, seeking efficient and effective resolutions.
Ensure compliance with the Sectional Titles Act, Deeds Registries Act, and other relevant property legislation.
Liaise with conveyancers, estate agents, government authorities, and other stakeholders involved in property transactions.
