Overview

PBT Group is seeking a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex and high-impact projects within a dynamic financial services environment. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, ensure governance and control, and oversee project execution from initiation to closure. This includes managing budgets, resources, timelines, and stakeholder relationships across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outcomes align with business objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor detailed project plans, budgets, and resourcing strategies.
  • Apply strong governance and change management principles throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution and integration of deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, providing clear communication and progress updates.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in project delivery and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Project Management, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years’ experience managing large, complex programmes or projects within financial services or digital banking environments.
  • Proven expertise in project methodologies such as Agile, SAFe, Scrum, PRINCE2, or PMBOK.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, and quality management principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and business cases.
