Purpose of the Role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex projects from initiation through to successful delivery. This role ensures that all project objectives align with organizational goals, budgets, and timelines while maintaining governance and quality standards. The incumbent will also provide mentorship to junior and mid-level project managers, fostering excellence and consistency in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage complex, multi-phase projects ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.

Oversee and mitigate project risks through proactive identification and implementation of effective risk management strategies.

Engage and communicate with executive-level stakeholders, providing progress updates, performance reports, and strategic insights.

Ensure adherence to organizational governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and quality assurance standards.

Mentor and guide junior and mid-level project managers to strengthen overall project management capability within the team.

Foster collaboration across departments to ensure effective delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements

  • NQF Level 6 qualification or a Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT) or related field.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, such as PMP, Prince2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Project Management role, preferably in managing large, complex, or cross-functional projects.
  • Advanced project planning, execution, and governance skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder and executive communication skills.
  • Financial and budget management proficiency.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale projects.
  • Proven leadership in managing diverse project teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication.
