Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 12+ years progressive civil engineering experience, with at least 7 years in senior project engineering/PM on large-scale infrastructure.
• PrEng registration with ECSA mandatory.
• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, water, earthworks).
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in a remote setting.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project and Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle for significant civil infrastructure development projects, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction oversight, all managed remotely.
• Provide expert technical direction and mentorship to project teams, ensuring adherence to the highest engineering standards and best practices.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, risk management strategies, resource allocation, scheduling, and budget control.
• Oversee the review and approval of design documents, specifications, and construction plans prepared by internal teams and external consultants.
• Manage key stakeholder relationships, including clients, government agencies, community groups, and regulatory bodies, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement proactive mitigation strategies to address potential challenges in project delivery.

• Ensure all projects comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS), environmental regulations, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• A PMP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 7 years in a senior project engineering or project management role, specifically focused on large-scale infrastructure development.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects involving roads, water infrastructure, bulk earthworks, or similar large-scale civil works.
• Proven ability to lead and manage geographically dispersed teams effectively in a remote work setting.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
