Requirements
  • Relevant 4 year tertiary qualification preferably a BTech: Environmental Science / Environmental Health / Environmental Management / other related qualification
  • Peace Officer Certificate
  • Certified Environmental Management Inspector
  • Registered with a relevant professional body
  • 5 - 8 years in the related field of air quality management / climate change / sustainable energy and environmental health / management with two (2) years at supervisory level
  • Code EB Driver’s Licence
  • Working knowledge, experience and training in the use of regulatory air dispersion modelling software
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
  • Physically able and capable of conducting Industrial site inspections
Key Performance Areas
  • Co-ordinates and ensures technical development of the city\'s air quality management emissions inventory and dispersion modelling system, ensuring the security, development and maintenance of the system and interface with other local, national, provincial and international air quality information systems
  • Implements air quality management related projects in order to ensure cost effective consulting services and capacity building in the air quality management field
  • Plans, reviews and coordinates policy, SOP’s and legislation, including development and implementation of the City’s approved Air Quality Management Plan.
  • Ensures credible and scientifically acceptable air quality management reporting in order to provide interested and affected parties, local working groups and national and provincial departments with information and data on the latest air quality management related developments in the City
