Job summary

A healthcare provider in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Professional Nurse to support the Unit Manager in delivering safe patient care and mentoring new nurses. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Nurse qualification and at least 3 years of experience in a hospital setting. Qualifications

  • Professional Nurse qualification and Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing if managing a specialist unit (e.g. Perioperative Nursing).
  • 3 years Professional Nurse experience in a hospital.
  • 1 year mentor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards.
  • Manage the client experience.
  • Ensure optimal supply, retention, and utilisation of staffing resources.
  • Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development.
  • Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital).

Main Purpose of Job
