About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Development Technician to support Product Owners, Product Managers, and Engineers in the development, assembly, testing, and verification of hardware products.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality product performance through hands‑on technical work, testing, documentation, and infrastructure setup in a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum qualifications: T3 / N6 / S4 Diploma in Electronic Engineering (B-Tech will be an advantage).

Experience: Minimum 5 years, preferably 7 years, in a product development environment. Experience in Radio Frequency (RF) measurements is advantageous. IPC certification will be an advantage. Proven experience working with analog and digital electronics and test equipment.

Key technical skills: Strong working knowledge of RF concepts and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) environment. Ability to write technical documentation such as Acceptance Test Procedures, Result Records, and Technical Reports. Understanding of electromagnetics and RF system behaviour. Proficiency in computer hardware, networks, and operating system installation/maintenance (Linux, Windows, Windows Server).

Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and commitment to product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Assembly: Interpret electronic circuit diagrams and assembly drawings, perform batching and kitting of components for assembly, carry out high‑quality assembly work for RF sub‑assemblies, mechanical components, PCBs, and cables, assist with system integration and product evaluation within the system context, conduct product software installation and modify installation procedures as needed.
  • Product Verification and Testing: Verify products against test procedures and specifications (ATP), record and analyse test results, implementing modifications as required, conduct validation testing based on test documentation, maintain and update the requirements management tool with faults, bugs and features, prepare and assist with field trials, factory acceptances and demonstrations, support System Engineers and Technicians during test execution.
  • Technical Documentation: Assist in preparing and reviewing Acceptance Test Procedures, Result Records, and Technical Reports, verify and provide input on assembly documentation and updates, support product training initiatives.
  • Infrastructure Setup: Manage IT infrastructure including router setup and TCP/IP configuration, set up and maintain PC and network systems using Linux, Windows, and Windows Server.
  • General Responsibilities: Maintain lab component stock levels and ensure availability of consumables, oversee lab store maintenance and general workplace upkeep according to 5S principles, execute reasonable ad‑hoc duties assigned by the Line Manager or Senior Engineer, such as assisting with shipping and training.
