A renewable energy company is seeking a Snr Procurement Manager in Cape Town. The role involves managing procurement of infrastructure for large-scale projects. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in contract processes and a strong understanding of local market conditions. Full-time and part-time options available.
ENERTRAG is expanding its activities in South Africa and is preparing for the execution of large‑scale renewable energy projects. This includes significant main equipment, civil, electrical and grid infrastructure procurement. We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead and manage these complex commercial and contractual processes in close cooperation with local engineering teams, and our global procurement team. The Snr Procurement Manager will lead all aspects of BOP / BOS and Grid infrastructure procurement on behalf of ENERTRAG South Africa, and will support global colleagues in the procurement of main equipment (Wind Turbine Generator, PV Module, Inverter, BESS, electrolysers etc).
Develop and implement procurement strategies for infrastructure scopes (Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant, EPC packages, substations, roads, foundations, grid connections).
Lead multi‑stage tender processes from RfQ to contract award, including bid evaluations, negotiation, and contract finalisation.
Coordinate closely with local engineering, PMO, construction and development teams, as well as the central procurement team at ENERTRAG HQ.
Draft and negotiate infrastructure and long‑term service contracts based on international standards (e.g. FIDIC, NEC) or ENERTRAG Heads of Terms.
Identify and manage commercial risks related to performance, timelines, permitting, site conditions, and grid connection.
Contribute to investment gate decisions (FID, RtB) by ensuring contractual and commercial readiness.
Build and manage a qualified supplier base, considering local market realities, B‑BEE requirements, and compliance with ENERTRAG policies.
Ensure adherence to governance structures, including the Supplier Code of Conduct, documentation standards, and risk escalation protocols.
Participate in supplier performance reviews and contribute to the implementation of procurement tools and reporting systems.
