Job summary

Geotech is seeking a Senior Procurement Buyer on a 2-month contract in Gauteng to lead end-to-end procurement, drive cost savings and optimize supplier performance. The role reports to the Group Procurement Manager and requires a hands-on individual who can deliver savings and ensure efficiency.

Reporting to the Group Procurement Manager, you will oversee stores, inventory and MRP processes, negotiate contracts, and mentor procurement staff to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• 8+ years of procurement and stores management experience.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation and cost management experience.
• Experience in industrial and manufacturing environments preferred.
• Engineering background or qualifications are a big plus.
• Automotive industry experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems; Fraxion and ACCPAC are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end procurement activities in the region.
• Negotiate pricing, rates, and contracts to achieve savings targets.
• Build, maintain, and strengthen supplier relationships and monitor SLA performance.
• Oversee stores operations, stock control, and inventory accuracy.
• Manage daily MRP activities to ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment.
• Provide guidance and support to procurement and stores personnel.
• Drive national procurement savings targets through strategic sourcing and cost reduction programs.
