Job summary

ECG Engineering, based in Africa with offices globally, is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead design and analysis on mining and power generation projects across the region.

You will undertake power system studies, develop tender documentation, and use modelling tools such as DigSilent PowerFactory and ETAP to deliver robust solutions. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering with power engineering specialization preferred.
• Strong background in HV power systems design and analysis.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Ability to self-manage in varied team/project settings.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake power system analysis for clients in mining and power generation sectors.
• Design power systems and propulsion for mining and energy projects.
• Prepare and evaluate tenders and technical proposals.
• Utilise power systems modelling tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory and ETAP.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Manila & Dar Es Salaam and Tanzania, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

We require a Senior Power Systems Engineer, to join our African based Power Systems team and take a leadership role creating and driving design, reports, studies and analysis to our diverse loyal clientele across resources and renewable energy.

Applicants should have strong skills and experience in the following areas:

• Analysis and design of HV power systems including design of powerlines and substations
• Specialized network analysis and performance standard studies experience
• Solid electrical engineering experience that also includes knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and controls applications
• Experience working on both greenfields and brownfields projects
• Degree level electrical engineering qualifications, with specialize power engineering qualifications well regarded
• An ability to self-manage while working in a variety of team / project delivery scenarios
• The ability to travel with project requirements
