About the Role

Our client, a highly respected asset management firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager specializing in equities to join their investment team. This role offers a significant opportunity to manage a portfolio of listed equities, drive investment strategy, and contribute to the firm's continued success. While the primary office is in **Randburg, Gauteng**, this position is being offered with a flexible, remote-first approach, allowing the successful candidate to operate effectively from their chosen location while maintaining collaboration with the Johannesburg-based team. You will be responsible for investment research, security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management to achieve superior risk‑adjusted returns for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee equity investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk parameters.
• Conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis of companies and industries.
• Develop and articulate investment theses and strategies.
• Make buy/sell decisions based on rigorous analysis and market outlook.
• Monitor portfolio performance and risk exposures, implementing necessary adjustments.
• Engage with research analysts, economists, and other investment professionals.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports and client communication materials.
• Stay abreast of market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; CFA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in portfolio management, equity research, or investment analysis.
• Proven track record of successfully managing equity portfolios and achieving investment objectives.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and valuation methodologies.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate investment strategies clearly.
