About the Role
Our client, a leading healthcare provider in Kimberley , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Podiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role involves providing comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. You will be instrumental in improving patient mobility and quality of life through expert assessment and treatment. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, excellent surgical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care, contributing significantly to the health and well-being of the community in the Northern Cape region.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions, including biomechanical abnormalities, sports injuries, and dermatological issues.
- Perform minor and major surgical procedures on the foot and ankle, such as bunionectomies, hammer toe correction, and fracture repairs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including orthotic prescription, physical therapy referrals, and medication management.
- Conduct regular patient follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on preventative foot care, disease management, and treatment options.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physiotherapists, and nurses.
Requirements
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience as a Podiatrist , including significant surgical experience.
- Valid registration with the relevant Podiatry Board and professional body.
- Proficiency in both conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle pathologies.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient management skills.
