Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior PLC Programmer to design, develop and implement PLC control systems for industrial applications in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role combines on-site client visits for installation and commissioning with remote programming and design work.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of PLC programming experience, strong HMI/SCADA skills, and proficiency with Siemens S7, Allen‑Bradley, and Mitsubishi platforms. Hybrid work setup available in the Polokwane region.

Qualifications

A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or closely related field.
Minimum 6 years of PLC programming and industrial automation experience.
Proficiency with major PLC platforms (Siemens S7, Allen‑Bradley CL/ CompactLogix, Mitsubishi).
Experience with HMI/SCADA software (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition) and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission PLC systems for complex industrial machinery and processes.
Develop HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator control and monitoring.
Troubleshoot and debug existing PLC programs and control systems.
Collaborate with clients and engineering teams to define system requirements.
Conduct site visits for installation, integration, testing, and validation of control systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and client requirements.
Provide technical support and training to clients on new systems.
Document programming and system configurations.
