Job summary

Shift Pursuit is seeking an experienced PICU Qualified Registered Nurse for a leading private hospital in Gauteng. The role focuses on providing specialized care to critically ill paediatric patients in the PICU, with a post-basic qualification in Critical Care – Child Nursing Science.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma/Degree in General Nursing, current SANC registration, and at least 3 years of paediatric hospital experience. Private hospital environment experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Post-Basic Qualification in Critical Care – Child Nursing Science is essential.
• Diploma or Degree in General Nursing is required.
• Current SANC Registration is mandatory.
• Minimum 3+ years’ hospital paediatric experience with critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill paediatric patients in PICU.
• Monitor and assess patients’ condition and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medication and treatments per prescribed protocols.
• Assist with advanced critical care procedures and interventions.
• Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Provide compassionate, family-centred care to paediatric patients and their families.
