Qualificações

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic pharmaceutical company, is seeking an innovative Senior Pharmaceutical Development Scientist to join their expanding research and development team in Klerksdorp, North West . This role is central to the formulation and development of novel pharmaceutical products, from early-stage concept to late-stage clinical trial material. The successful candidate will possess a strong scientific foundation in pharmaceutics and drug delivery systems, with a proven ability to design and execute formulation studies. You will work in a well-equipped laboratory, collaborating with analytical scientists, process engineers, and project managers to advance drug candidates. This is a critical role for an individual passionate about translating scientific discoveries into tangible therapeutic solutions for patients. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation development of new pharmaceutical products, including oral solids, injectables, and other dosage forms.
• Design and conduct pre-formulation studies, solubility enhancement, and stability assessments.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for drug product candidates, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Characterize drug delivery systems and evaluate their performance using appropriate analytical techniques.
• Collaborate with analytical development teams to establish release and stability testing methods.
• Plan and execute formulation development studies for early-phase clinical trials.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues, proposing effective solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, development summaries, and regulatory submission documents.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in pharmaceutics, drug delivery technologies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and technicians in formulation development activities.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams, contributing scientific expertise and strategic input.
• Manage external collaborations with contract research organizations (CROs) as needed.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
