Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Pathologist to join a state-of-the-art diagnostic and research laboratory in Nelspruit. You will lead histopathological analysis, contribute to diagnostic accuracy, and participate in disease research at the cellular level.

The role requires 5+ years post-residency in diagnostic surgical pathology, MBChB or equivalent, and board eligibility or certification in Anatomic Pathology. Hybrid work and opportunities for CME and academic contributions are available.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) with specialized training in Pathology.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology is required.
• Minimum of 5 years post-residency diagnostic surgical pathology experience.
• Subspecialty expertise (oncology, neuropathology, dermatopathology) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive microscopic examination of tissue samples (biopsies, surgical resections) for diagnostic purposes.
• Provide accurate and timely pathological diagnoses, including consultative services for clinicians.
• Conduct research studies to investigate the pathology of various diseases, contributing to new diagnostic approaches.
• Perform and interpret special stains, immunohistochemistry, and molecular pathology tests.
• Mentor and train junior pathologists and pathology residents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and quality standards.
