Job description

Job Role: Senior Operations Governance Manager (Remote, Global Projects) Job Type: Permanent Location: Fully Remote – South Africa

If you're the kind of operator who can walk into a messy, high‑pressure environment and bring order, structure, and measurable improvements fast — you're exactly the type of person we're looking for. We run complex, multi‑system stabilisation and integration projects for organisations that are going through rapid change, system upgrades, vendor transitions, or operational breakdowns.

These projects are high‑stakes, time‑sensitive, and leadership‑visible.

They demand someone who thrives under pressure, understands how to cut through noise, and can design governance frameworks that actually work in the real world. If you've ever stepped into a situation where processes aren't aligned, vendors aren't synchronised, teams are reactive, and leadership is losing confidence — and you turned that situation around — then this role is built for you.

About Pearl Lemon Group

Pearl Lemon Group is a UK‑registered company (Company No, founded in ...) with headquarters in London (EC1V 2NX) and a remote‑first team of + professionals across 30+ nationalities. We operate globally across SEO, Lead Generation, PR, Legal, Accounting, Food & Gaming industries. We’re a fast‑growing, multi‑brand growth agency that partners with clients in the UK, US, Canada, and beyond—driven by transparency, speed, and results.

  • by Deepak Shukla, a former Deloitte consultant and 3× TEDx speaker.
About the Role

You’ll act as a Senior Operations & Systems Governance Lead— the person we bring in when a client is dealing with complex operational failures, fragmented ownership, inconsistent processes, or systems that are not delivering the reliability they should. You won’t be doing technical system configuration or processing transactions. Your job is to take control of the oversight, rebuild governance, and guide leadership through a structured stabilisation and improvement process. You’ll coordinate multiple vendors, internal teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.

You’ll diagnose issues, design governance frameworks, and deliver executive‑level reporting that gives leadership the visibility and confidence to make major decisions. This is a strategic oversight role — perfect for someone with experience in operational consulting, PMO, systems governance, service delivery improvement, or business transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Diagnostic Reviews: Conduct structured assessments to identify root causes of operational or process failures.
  • Replace assumptions with evidence: Produce fast‑turnaround findings reports and map issues across teams, systems, and vendors to determine where ownership is breaking down.
  • Design Governance & Control Frameworks: Build governance charters, meeting cadences, dashboards and create clear accountability models across internal teams and external providers.
  • Implement control mechanisms: Prevent drift and restore operational rhythm.
  • Oversee Vendors & Cross‑Functional Teams: Hold vendors and internal teams to measurable standards without bias, create performance reporting that enables leadership decision‑making, and ensure alignment across multiple systems and partners.
  • Present to Senior Leadership: Deliver evidence‑based reports with clear recommendations, provide structured updates that cut through complexity, and act as a trusted advisor, ensuring leadership has clarity to make strategic decisions.
  • Drive Transition & Embedding: Support internal teams in adopting frameworks and processes, create handover kits, operating guides, and reporting tools, and ensure improvements continue after your involvement ends.
Qualifications

You don't need a specific sector background; people succeed in this role from consulting, operations, systems integration, shared services, finance operations, payroll oversight, PMO, transformation, and similar fields. What matters is that you have:

  • Experience stabilising complex operational environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors or systems in parallel.
  • Strong governance, PMO, or process improvement skills.
  • Experience dealing with ambiguity and high‑stakes situations.
  • Ability to produce clear, executive‑friendly reporting.
  • Structured, analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills – direct, concise, confident.
Benefits
  • Career‑changing platform: work on high‑stakes projects inside organisations undergoing real transformation. Your work will be seen — and felt — at the highest level.
  • Autonomy & ownership: remote‑first, outcome‑driven organisation with no micromanagement. You own your metrics and deliverables.
  • Founder‑level learning: internal Pearl Lemon Academy and Pearl Lemon MBA programmes give you access to the same training we use to turn interns into operators and operators into leaders.
  • Global team & exposure: collaborate with team members from the UK, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Europe, and beyond.
  • Fast growth environment: reward speed, consistency, and ambition. People who deliver here climb quickly.
What We Offer
  • Competitive monthly pay of $USD (based on experience and performance).
  • Remote work with flexible hours and location independence.
  • Ongoing mentorship, skills training, and growth opportunities within Pearl Lemon Group.
  • Exposure to a global team and international client network.
  • Global exposure: work with clients and colleagues across 4 continents.
  • Learning culture: access the Pearl Lemon Academy and MBA‑style training to fast‑track your career.
  • Autonomy & ownership: manage your accounts with independence—results matter most.
  • Career growth: be mentored directly by experienced leaders and founders.
  • Innovative ecosystem: contribute to ventures from Pearl Lemon Café to Pearl Lemon Games.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: at Pearl Lemon, every team member is an entrepreneur in training.
