Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design and deploy complex network systems. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience, strong expertise in Cisco or Juniper platforms, and is proficient in network security protocols. Responsibilities include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and leading technical projects. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required, with a Master's preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, focusing on enterprise environments.
• Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent) highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF and other protocols.

Job description

Design and deploy LAN, WAN and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.Implement and manage network security protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud integration, data center operations and remote connectivity.Lead network upgrades, migrations and capacity planning initiatives.Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams and operational procedures.Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on strategic projects.Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network efficiency and security.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise environments.Strong expertise in Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking platforms.Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds,&Wireshark).
