Placements24 seeks a highly accomplished Remote Senior Narrative Designer to craft engaging stories for immersive experiences. This fully remote role is based in South Africa with a stable internet connection.

You will develop rich narratives, plots, and character arcs shaping player journeys across projects. Collaborate with game designers, artists, and writers in a remote agile setup, delivering high-quality content, playtesting insights, and narrative systems integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Narrative Designer or Writer in video games.
• Excellent writing skills for dialogue, plots and characters.
• Experience designing interactive narrative structures.
• Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven, remote environment.

Responsabilités

• Develop and write narrative content including plots, backstories, dialogue, and in-game text.
• Design interactive narrative systems that respond to player choices and actions.
• Collaborate with game designers, level designers, and artists for narrative coherence.
• Create narrative design documents outlining story structure, character arcs, and themes.
• Work with voice actors and audio designers for dialogue delivery.
• Contribute to world-building and lore development across projects.
• Identify and propose solutions to narrative challenges throughout development.
• Participate in playtesting and iterate on narrative elements based on feedback.
• Champion the narrative vision across the player experience.
• Manage narrative tasks and contribute to scheduling in a remote agile environment.
