The Role

Our Cape Town-based team is looking for a Merchant to support the merchandising team. The role focuses on the execution of winning product assortments by building rich and well-informed perspectives on local consumer and market dynamics, cultural influences, general trends and competitive intelligence.

With us you will
  • Owner of End-to-End Category merchandising management.
  • Create category strategy to win in the market & deliver financials.
  • Build assortment at gender / category / channel / account level within the regional guidelines to ensure a consistent look and feel.
  • Deep understanding of local socio, political and creative trends and ability to anticipate consumer behaviors and inform the regional brand responses.
  • Interpret and incorporate local brief needs into requirements for the regional teams.
  • Contribute to all aspects of Product Management activities.
  • Inform and implement brand strategies.
  • Identify and assist in developing quick response products.
  • Inform an assortment plan that considers all local requirements.
  • Thoughtfully manages risk to take advantage on market opportunities.
  • Monitor and share competitor trends including pricing strategies for different accounts / channels and consumer segments.
  • Create a team that is culturally connected, driven to win and innovative with a relentless focus on the consumer and the competition.
