Job Overview (Purpose)
The Senior MSL is a credible and valued representative of the company in the field, interacting with key stakeholders across regions, products and therapeutic areas to establish and maintain scientific relationships with opinion leaders and healthcare professionals. They provide medical and scientific information on appropriate product utilization, general therapeutic area knowledge, and stay aligned with the Brand Team objectives and medical plan.
Through conferences and meetings, the Senior MSL acts as a scientific expert, bringing back the latest scientific advances to the company and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend up to 60% of the time in field‑based, customer‑facing activities, engaging in two‑way dialogues with scientific experts and key opinion leaders.
- Contribute to the holistic medical strategy for oncology from the office while maintaining field presence.
- Provide a variety of external and internal customers with medical and scientific information on the appropriate utilization of specific company products and general information about the therapeutic area and disease state.
- Attend conferences and meetings as a scientific expert, summarizing the latest scientific advances for the company, brand team, and external stakeholders.
- Engage with clinical and medical oncologists to share scientific data on DRL Oncology assets, discuss clinical unmet need, current treatment landscape, global guidelines, and pipeline molecules.
- Develop an adoption ladder to measure portfolio uptake by clinicians.
- Stay abreast of all clinical developments in the specific therapeutic area and assess opportunities or challenges for the business.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to achieve common goals, building long‑term activity plans with scientific organizations and communities.
- Coordinate planning of scientific publications in credible journals, including guideline publications.
- Perform key opinion leader mapping for relevant cancers and establish a scientific advisory board to aid in launching innovative assets.
- Regularly engage advisory board members.
- Participate in formal and informal insights generation initiatives, including market research.
- Prepare speaker‑development programs in collaboration with the global medical affairs team.
- Create and execute plans for collaboration with key opinion leaders.
- Manage any product‑specific Expanded Access Program (EAP).
- Implement high‑quality medical and scientific education in the field, delivering presentations to sites and external audiences.
- Identify barriers, create a communication plan based on insights, and prepare a formal insight‑gathering and dissemination plan.
- Develop an understanding of the regional landscape, including specialties involved in patient care.
- Communicate clinical insights on new data to the Medical Affairs and inform medical strategy for the therapeutic area.
- Develop country‑specific disease‑area medical strategy and data‑generation plans.
- Identify data gaps and propose post‑marketing studies to close them, assist in study synopsis, protocol, and case report form preparation.
- Prepare publications and congress abstracts in collaboration with key external experts.
- Support clinical development initiatives, including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and final data presentation.
- Conduct trainings with the sales team and cross‑functional brand team.
- Fully adhere to Dr. Reddy's code of ethics, marketing, and compliance, completing onboarding training and maintaining training registers.
- Maintain adherence to all role‑specific policies, including promotional material management, contracting, procurement, event execution, and expense policies.
- Lead BU‑wide transformation initiatives, proposing and implementing projects that create distinct value for the organization.
Qualifications
- PhD or master’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology or medical sciences.
- At least 3‑5 years’ experience in a medical affairs role within pharma.
- Oncology experience is a pre‑requisite.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in launching innovative assets.
- Advanced communication, medical writing, and presentation skills.
