A leading steel manufacturing plant in the Cape Town region is seeking a GMR 2 Mechanical Maintenance Leader with extensive experience in heavy industry. The successful candidate will manage the mechanical maintenance team, oversee maintenance programmes, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a Mechanical Engineering background and 20–25 years of hardcore mechanical maintenance experience. Qualifications

• 20–25 years of proven experience in hardcore mechanical maintenance within steel plants or heavy-industry environments.
• Currently in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong HSE knowledge – LOTO, permit-to-work, mechanical safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the mechanical maintenance team to meet production and plant-reliability targets.
• Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventory and contractors.
• Prepare and present maintenance performance reports to management.
