About the Company

We are a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm specialising in innovative mechanical and precision engineering solutions. Our team designs and develops complex mechanical systems and machines from concept to completion, with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of precision mechanical systems and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating mechanical designs from first principles, ensuring adherence to fine tolerances, and incorporating operational and maintenance requirements into every stage of the design process. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contribute to advanced, high-accuracy engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of precision mechanical systems and components from first principles.
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Design and select mechanical components such as actuators, motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, bushes, and sealing arrangements.
  • Incorporate operational and maintenance considerations into design solutions.
  • Manage the complete design lifecycle — from concept and analysis through prototyping, testing, and release for manufacture.
  • Conduct engineering analyses using tools such as FEA, tolerance analysis, and kinematic simulation.
  • Review vendor drawings, prototypes, and fabrication packages for compliance with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and best practices in precision mechanical engineering.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BSc).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design of precision machinery or high-accuracy equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex mechanical design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of actuators, motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, bushes, and sealing systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Experience with precision engineering analysis tools (FEA, tolerance analysis, kinematic simulation) advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and first-principles engineering.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control methods.
  • ECSA registration or working toward registration preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Why Join Us

  • Contribute to innovative, high-precision engineering projects designed from first principles.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Gain exposure to advanced design technologies and professional development opportunities.
