Overview

Senior Manager: Provider Network Relations and Contracting

To participate in the development, implementation and ongoing management of health risk management initiatives focusing on the central role of healthcare professionals.

In addition there is a requirement to engage with client schemes to position and ultimately implement these initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure all enhancements are successfully implemented in the organisation.
  • Develop products that meet defined quality requirements and achieve desired outputs and improvements.
  • Identify operational and system weaknesses and implement refined processes, SOPs and systems.
  • Manage Voice of the Customer Surveys and ensure action is taken to address identified issues.
  • Business analysis and documentation of business plans for enhancements and developments.
  • Liaison with business process specialists and project managers.
  • Drive and oversee ownership of projects for specific products.
  • Understand interdependence of different systems and processes within your area of specialization and department.
  • Provide specialist input into efficiency, compliance and quality objectives for relevant areas.
  • Identify problems and develop and propose solutions to appropriate leaders or stakeholders.
  • Improve cost efficiency and reduce wasteful processes through implementation of strategic projects (cost containment).
  • Manage a budget and continuously review cost/benefit and ROI.
  • Interface with third parties and service provider networks.
  • Maintain high inter‑departmental understanding to deliver on professional excellence.
  • Continuously increase understanding of client and stakeholder needs, satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Knowledge management: share and maintain adequate knowledge within the research library.
  • Provide advice and training as required.
  • Maintain and develop specialist knowledge.
  • Contribute to professional bodies, including publication of articles and research findings; ensure CPD requirements are met annually.
  • Build and maintain a network of internal and external experts and partners; represent the brand in professional networks.
  • Identify risks for the department, maintain the risk register and lower risk ratings.
  • Provide specialist support to projects, owning specialist knowledge and participating in projects per project‑management discipline.
  • Represent the department or project on governance committees.
  • Draft, vet, and cost service tender submissions.
  • Implement strategic projects.
  • Monitor business performance against targets.
  • Ensure effective communication processes to address stakeholder requirements.
  • Hold regular feedback meetings with stakeholders to identify gaps in the existing service model.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 10 years of healthcare experience relating to provider engagement, relationship management, network management and stakeholder engagement, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • 5 years of experience in hospital case management and hospital & provider claims assessment and auditing.
  • Leadership experience within a health‑care environment.
  • Human Resource Administrator/Recruiter or Industrial Psychology experience preferred.
Business and Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of agilen development life cycles, relevant legislation and clinical intervention processes.
  • Ability to develop, guide and direct liaison between various stakeholders.
  • Competence in guiding, directing sustainability, productivity and cost effectiveness at a strategic level.
  • Strong communication, executive business writing, task‑management and change‑management skills.
  • Innovative, risk‑seeking mindset committed to continuous improvement.
