Senior Manager – Procurement - Health Sector

POSITION INFO :

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager – Procurement with experience in the Health Sector.

Location : Head Office – Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort, Gauteng

Remuneration : R1.4 million CTC

Reports to : Executive : Corporate Services

Team Leadership : 9 direct reports | 4 indirect reports

Budget Oversight : R7 million operational budget

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager – Procurement to lead strategic sourcing, tender management, and supplier engagement across multiple business segments. This role is pivotal in shaping procurement strategy, driving compliance, and embedding a customer‑focused culture through a business partnership model.

🔑 Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement high-level procurement strategies
  • Oversee spend across three business segments
  • Drive strategic initiatives and monitor performance metrics
Policy & Governance
  • Review and enforce procurement policies and procedures
  • Standardize negotiation processes and documentation controls
  • Lead the implementation of BBBEE strategies
Performance & Compliance
  • Establish KPIs and ensure procurement excellence
  • Introduce tools and systems to enhance purchasing quality
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline operations
People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
  • Manage performance reviews, training, and resourcing
  • Foster team morale and drive continuous improvement
🎓 Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional certification
  • 10+ years’ experience in procurement, with at least 5 years at senior management level
  • 3–5 years in strategic sourcing, tender, and contract management
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain compliance, BBBEE, and governance frameworks (e.g., King IV)
  • Experience in the health sector
