A governmental maritime authority in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Manager for the Office of the CEO. The role focuses on providing strategic executive support, governance counsel, and managing stakeholder relationships. Candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification, possess 7 to 10 years of senior leadership experience, and have expertise in corporate governance and strategic planning. Strategic Executive Support & Governance in the Office of the CEO
Provide expert counsel on governance, legal frameworks, and political-economic dynamics.
Coordinate executive engagements with the Board, Committees and EXCO.
In Collaboration with HC, Facilitate the performance review process for the Executive Committee (EXCO) members.
Maintain influential relationships with government, industry partners, and maritime authorities.
Provide Liaison function for the CEO and SAMSA with high-stakes national and international forums.
Oversee the comprehensive management and operational efficiency of the CEO's office.
Govern budgeting, financial stewardship, and organisational risk mitigation strategies for the CEO Office.
Mentor a high-performing team and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Implement and monitor performance management including the balanced scorecard in the Office of the CEO.
Postgraduate Qualification (Master's or MBA preferred) in Public Administration, Business Leadership, Law, or a related field.
Qualification in Maritime Studies will be a distinct advantage.
Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience of progressive senior or executive leadership experience.
Proven track record in a complex public or private sector environment, with experience in maritime, ports, transport, or regulatory sectors being highly desirable.
Demonstrable expertise in corporate governance, strategic planning, performance management, and board-level interactions.
