Purpose of the position:
The Senior Manager MEIP ensures that engineering disciplines, mechanical and piping, civil and process engineering are effectively coordinated to deliver high‑quality engineering outputs and projects. The Senior Manager MEIP will also promote the multi‑disciplinary value offered by Proconics outside the electrical, and control and instrumentation environments. The Senior Manager MEIP will also coordinate with other engineering disciplines where associated electrical, and control and instrumentation scope is required and vice versa. The Senior Manager MEIP may also execute projects and ensure projects in the MEIP group are executed in accordance with the Proconics governance requirements and processes.
Qualifications/Experience:
- BEng / BTech Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered Pr Eng or Pr Eng Tech with ECSA.
- 15+ years of engineering or engineering management experience.
- Project management skills; been part of project teams.
- Strong multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge in project execution.
- Good understanding of E, C&I engineering in a multi-discipline project environment.
- Ability to manage and take lead on multiple projects at once, i.e. project and portfolio management.
- Team leadership and motivation.
- Ability and experience to make technical decisions or refer decisions to subject matter experts.
- In-depth knowledge of EPC contracts and NEC3 contracting framework.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, risk management, and compliance across all engineering disciplines.
- Expertise in project budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
Required Outputs and Responsibilities:
- Technical Oversight & Project Execution, Oversee and manage the execution of engineering projects, ensuring deliverable adherence on time, within agreed quality, within committed cost, and safe implementation.
- Manage technical resources and mitigate risks.
- Lead and manage all engineering disciplines on a multi-discipline project.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Oversee design reviews and approvals for all engineering deliverables.
- Project Management and Coordination, Coordinate efforts between engineering disciplines for smooth project delivery.
- Manage project deliverables and budgets across all engineering scopes.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve engineering issues.
- Technical Oversight, provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams; refer relevant issues to subject matter experts.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement, Maintain close communication with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Serve as the main engineering point of contact for clients for multi-discipline projects.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on project progress and technical challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with P&E experts, suppliers, and government bodies.
- Team Leadership Lead engineering teams in daily operations on various projects.
- Ensure clear communication of project goals and responsibilities.
- Create a motivating environment focused on meeting project deliverables.
- Risk Management & Compliance Identify and mitigate technical risks in the execution of engineering projects.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations.
- Work closely with SHERQ teams to maintain compliance.
