Job summary

EnableSA in Somerset West, South Africa, seeks an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join the team. The role will become hybrid after the probation period.

You will review monthly management accounts and draft annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs. You will assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cost modelling, and lead monthly management meetings with clients, offering proactive insight and forward-looking financial guidance.

Qualifications

• Qualified with Degree in Accounting or Finance and SAICA/SAIPA articles completed (CIMA also considered).
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in an accounting practice or outsourced finance environment.
• Experience reviewing AFS and management accounts prepared by others.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and SA tax legislation (income tax, VAT, provisional tax).

Responsibilities

• Independently review monthly management accounts — income statements, balance sheets and supporting schedules, in addition to managing your own portfolio.
• Draft and review Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in accordance with IFRS for SMEs, signing off on work prepared by others.
• Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cost modelling where needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the Management Accounting team.
• Review provisional tax calculations, VAT, and payroll reconciliations prepared by the team; act as escalation point for technical queries.
• Lead monthly management meetings with clients, providing proactive insight, highlighting risks and trends, and offering forward-looking financial guidance.
• Support trainees and junior accountants with technical queries and review their work where needed.
• Partner with senior leadership on ad-hoc projects.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join the Somerset West team. This position will become a hybrid role after the probation period has been completed.

Requirements

• Grade12
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, withSAICA or SAIPA articles completed (CIMA also considered)
• 5+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally withinan accounting practice or outsourced finance environment serving multipleclients, rather than solely in a single-entity, in-house experience
• Demonstrated experience reviewing AFS and managementaccounts prepared by others, not just drafting your own
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and SouthAfrican tax legislation (income tax, VAT, provisional tax)
• Proficiency in cloud accounting platforms (e.g. Xero,Draftworx, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Exposure to fractional CFO/FM environments, orcross-border/international clients is advantageous
• Experience mentoring trainees through SAICA or SAIPAtraining programs is advantageous
