A mining and construction company in Delmas is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician fluent in Chinese. This position is based on an 8 weeks on / 3 weeks off FIFO rotation system.

Qualifications

SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – FLUENT CHINESE M/F

Scope of Work

As the senior maintenance technician, you will be the first point of contact for the client on site, performing preventing and curative maintenance of machinery equipment on site and assisting mechanics in diagnosis and repair of equipment failures.

Responsibilities

Technical

• Conduct periodic inspections on supervised machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of machine failures using documentation and measurement tools.
• Assist in repairs of machines.

Non-Technical

• Ensure work duties are carried out in a safe and clean environment.
• Prepare regular service reports (maintenance monitoring, parts list, repairs, preparation, breakdown hours, breakdown repair time, failure analysis).
• Observe and enforce safety rules specific to the site.
• Liaise regularly with Corporate Technical Managers, Technical Communicators and Aftermarket Sales Representatives.

Tutoring

• Provide continuous tutoring and mentoring of junior staff as needed.

Profile

• Solid academic background in Technical Maintenance.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a Heavy Equipment Workshop, ideally in a mining environment.
• Excellent skills in Hydraulics, Electricity, Motor, Transmission, and Industrial Maintenance.
• Knowledge of the mining environment is a definite advantage.
• Knowledge and experience of CAT equipment:
  • Trucks 777 to 793
  • Dozers D6 to D11
  • Shovels 6015 to 6060
  • Graders 14 to 24 / 120‑140
  • Loaders 966 to 994
  • Excavators 320 and upwards
• Very good command of SIS and ET.
• Knowledge of VIMS and other embedded new technologies.
• Driving licence mandatory.
• Fluent/Native Chinese mandatory.
• A good level of Technical English highly welcome.
• High degree of autonomy, teamwork, and support of less experienced colleagues.
• Strong capabilities to work in a multicultural environment.
• Position typically based on an 8 weeks on / 3 weeks off FIFO rotation system.
