E-Merge is seeking a highly skilled Senior Magento Developer to join our growing team. The role focuses on Magento 2, e-commerce development, PHP, and modern web technologies to build, enhance, and maintain high-performing online stores in Midrand.

You will collaborate with developers, designers and stakeholders to deliver scalable Magento solutions, optimize performance, and ensure seamless integrations with third-party systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Magento 2 experience.
• Excellent PHP development skills.
• Strong understanding of OOP and software design.
• Strong MySQL experience.
• Experience developing Magento modules and extensions.
• Solid understanding of Magento architecture.
• REST and/or SOAP API experience.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with Git and source-control practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience on Linux-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Magento 2 e-commerce platforms.
• Design and develop custom Magento modules and extensions.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability and security.
• Work with Magento themes, layouts and frontend functionality.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain development standards.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions.
