Senior Legal Counsel

We are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Kempton Park.

Responsibilities

• Support DSV entities in South Africa and Sub‑Saharan Africa in all legal matters.
• Contract support and review of commercial contracts in accordance with the Contractual Compliance Manual.
• Corporate compliance and participation in review processes of contracts for M&A transactions.
• Pre‑litigation, trial and transactional litigation support in collaboration with Group Legal and External Legal Counsel.
• Local authority liaison and assistance to Group Credit with recovery of bad debt in collaboration with External Legal Counsel.
• Support to Group Customs and local customs team on customs‑related matters.
• Support to local teams of international freight forwarders on export controls compliance.
• Reporting claims and contract‑related information to Group HQ departments.
• Facilitate communication with External Legal Counsel and ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Qualifications

• LLB degree.
• At least 5 years of experience as in‑house counsel or lawyer.
• Experience in transport and logistics and international negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations and ability to provide training to key stakeholders.
• Fluent in English – oral and written.
• Experience with MS Office – particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Structured approach to work, strong communication skills, and ability to balance quality and deadlines.
• Calm under pressure and able to cooperate with colleagues across geography, functions and culture.
